WINTER COURSES 2011 / 2012

CMD arete, Jan 2011

For some hill goers winter on the Scottish mountains is the finest time to be out enjoying the beautiful Highlands. The winter season like we had in the last couple of winters' with fantastic clear skies and lots of excellent snow cover then the attraction is obvious. Heading out into the Winter hills in Scotland and other mountains in Britain is far more serious than walking in summer and requires additional skills. We have on offer several courses to learn all the necessary skills and techniques to be safe whilst walking in the mountains. Courses run from around end of November to mid April, weekends and holiday periods are always busy so advanced bookings are strongly recommended.

Our ONE DAY, TWO DAY and FOUR DAY courses will give you the necessarry skills to be able to plan a day out in winter, walking on the mountains confidently and safely. We also have on offer a specific one day course in AVALANCHE AWARENESS and a fun ONE DAY/NIGHT snow hole expedition.

For those who would like to climb BEN NEVIS IN WINTER we can organise a one day basic skills and an ascent day to enjoy Britain's highest mountain.
