IN THE FACE OF THE EIGER 2012
The Eiger from the Lauberhorn, Sept 2008A great 6 day walk in the Bernese Oberland devised by us. It links the famous Swiss Alpine resort of Grindelwald, dominated by the Eiger, to the small, unspoilt village of Kandersteg. The walk moves to a different village every day along the way we stop at beautiful villages such as Wengen and Murren. The trek highlights include The North Face of The Eiger, the summit of The Schiltorn with it's famous revolving restaurant at the summit and the beautiful Lake Oischensee.
7 nights in comfortable hotels, luggage transfer, qualified and experienced International Mountain Leader and all transport from Geneva airport. £600
The Schiltorn, Sept 2008The Schilthorn, we walk to the summit to be greeted by fabulous views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau plus all mod cons and a revolving restaurant! Most people take the cable car so the walk will be very quiet. The continuation on the other side of the ridge is steep but well protected with chains and handrails. From then onwards we pass through very quiet mountain terrain.

A wonderful walk up to a high col en route to Kandersteg. This shot is taken from the refuge serving all kinds of meals and refreshments, the norm in Alpine areas.
Lake Oischensee. Kandersteg. Sept 2008The beautiful lake Oischensee, above the village of Kandersteg. Alpine meadows, glaciated mountains and lakes are the typical Alpine landscapes on this tour
